Funny about words. Take "spam.". Please. :-). Kidding aside, while most (certainly younger, Internet-savvy) Americans think of spam in terms of email, there is a place in the world where Spam the meat product always comes to mind first. For example Guam, where the Spam product is practically the official food of the island. Hormel even issued a commemorative label in honor of Guam's liberation from the Japanese on August 10, 1944. It is reported that Guamanians consume the equivalent of 16 cans per person per year.
